Sing to the Lord a New Song! His praise from the ends of the earth!

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! It is with great joy and a full heart that I write this end-of-year blog post to you: my friends, family, supporters, and the myriad network of artists, musicians, worshipers, pastors, and teachers both local and abroad. I am so grateful for each and every one of you!

2017 was a year of going low and going local. After coming off of the mountaintop experience of the Night of Hope and Reconciliation: For the City, Through the Arts (2016), I felt a real call to pour into the artists and songwriters at the local church where I work part time as Worship Director (visit our new worship ministries website here)! I was surprised to discover 15+ proficient & budding writers in our mid-sized church (we are NOT your local megachurch!) who were ready to run with this together. My heart has been to encourage the release of the song-of-the-Lord in this season for our body and for our community. Be looking ahead for an upcoming night of “Songs Arising From The Church” in 2018 where we will celebrate the release of this new song!

2017 also brought the privilege of putting on two concerts with local artist Cari Shipp (flute) to benefit The Adult Learning Center of Charlottesville (a local organization where Cari volunteered) and also a fusion concert: SONOSYNTHESIS to benefit IMPACT CVILLE, a local organization that empowers the faith community to work together for justice in our region. Both of these concerts were a great success, SONOSYNTHESIS a sold out show! It was our honor to give generously to these two local organizations who are serving our community.
